Royal ECC: Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Campus Banner Celebration

In May 2023, Royal ISD was proud to announce that Royal Early Childhood Center was named a Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) National Showcase School, a program that recognizes outstanding school administrators, teaching staff, and faculty for producing exemplary outcomes with the CKH process. Because of the rigor of the evaluation process, the Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools award is both a high aspiration and an exemplary recognition of excellence.

Royal ECC truly believes that “If you have a child’s heart, you have a child’s mind.” Yesterday, the Royal ECC team unveiled their National Showcase School banner, which is proudly displayed in the ECC gym. The ECC team was joined by all ECC students, district leadership, The Katy Times, and the Royal Marching Sound Machine Drumline. Thank you to everyone who made this honor possible. Visit https://bit.ly/3Zdttd9 to view more pictures!

One of the hallmarks of CKH is hand signals to help students focus. The "Timeout" signal is used to let everyone in the group know that it's time to listen. Our ECC students did a great job demonstrating this skill at the celebration.

This honor is only available to schools that have completed at least one year of the CKH program. Royal ECC is in its second year of the program, meaning that the campus received the award in its first year of eligibility. The 2022-2023 selection process began with over 10,000 campuses and resulted in 468 awardees.

Our CKH process champions are the backbone of the initiative. The group attends regular meetings and training sessions and put the vision and goals into practice!
