October is Principal Appreciation Month, and Royal ISD is proud to recognize the six outstanding leaders who serve our students, staff, families, and community each day.

Our principals do far more than lead their campuses. They support teachers, celebrate students, build relationships with families, solve challenges, and help create the culture that makes each Royal ISD campus special. We are grateful for their commitment to Investing in Our Tomorrow.

Katacha Miller โ€“ Royal Early Childhood Center

A former Royal ISD student herself, Ms. Miller has dedicated much of her career to the Royal community. She began her educational journey at Royal ECC and later returned to serve the district as a teacher and campus leader. With more than 20 years in education, her experience includes teaching Pre-K through fourth grade and serving in numerous leadership roles. Her commitment to helping Royal's youngest Falcons build a strong foundation reflects her belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed.

Daniel Martinez โ€“ Royal Prairie Elementary

Mr. Martinez joined the Falcon Family with 14 years of educational experience, including service as an elementary assistant principal and as both an elementary and middle school principal. A graduate of Texas A&M University-San Antonio, he is also a co-author of Restorative Discipline Practices and has participated in the Harvard Leadership Program for Principals. His leadership centers on relationships, growth, accountability, and creating a school where students feel supported and challenged to reach their full potential.

Ashley Cook โ€“ Royal Elementary

Ms. Cook is a student-centered, data-driven leader with experience in curriculum, testing, instructional coordination, and campus administration. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and has led Royal Elementary since 2022. Her leadership is grounded in a love of learning and a commitment to bringing teachers, students, parents, and community members together to support student achievement.

Dr. Felecia Carrington โ€“ Royal Junior High

Dr. Carrington brings a wide range of experience to Royal Junior High, having served as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and associate principal across elementary, middle, and high school settings. A two-time Prairie View A&M University graduate, she also earned degrees from the University of Houston-Victoria and University of Houston-Clear Lake. Her leadership emphasizes relationships, high expectations, empowerment, and ensuring students have the support they need to discover their strengths and achieve their potential.

Katelyn Miksch โ€“ Royal STEM Academy

Ms. Miksch began her career in education in 2007 after graduating from Texas A&M University and has worked with students from Head Start through 12th grade. Passionate about STEM education, she is committed to helping students recognize their talents, challenge themselves, and prepare for successful futures. Her goal is to see every student grow both academically and personally while building meaningful connections with students and staff.

Marangelly Harris โ€“ Royal High School

Mrs. Harris brings nearly 20 years of public education experience to Royal High School, with leadership experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. A bilingual educator and U.S. Army veteran, she previously served as a principal in Spring ISD and has held administrative roles in Bay City and Spring Branch ISDs. Her leadership focuses on academic excellence, accountability, strong instructional systems, and meaningful partnerships with students, staff, families, and the community.

During Principal Appreciation Month, we invite our entire Falcon community to join us in saying thank you to these dedicated leaders. Their work makes a difference every day, and their leadership helps ensure that every Royal ISD student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and Create Their Legacy.

Thank you, Royal ISD principals, for all you do for our Falcons and Eagles!
