As you know, an employee of the RISD food services contractor was recently diagnosed with COVID-19. That employee has not been in RISD facilities since March 25. Any staff member who was within 6 feet of the affected employee has been instructed to quarantine.
Concerns have been expressed that members of the new food services team were exposed to the employee who has COVID-19. None of them were within 6 feet of the employee. The Waller County Health Advisor and the Texas Department of State Health Services have provided guidance on the steps to take. As a result, RISD has implemented the following measures:
- Replaced the prior team with people who had no contact with the employee.
- Relocated the Falcon Drive Thru service.
- Ongoing cleaning and sanitation measures.
- Continued adherence to CDC COVID-19 prevention recommendations.
District employees, students, and their families are instructed to continue following CDC recommendations and to practice social distancing. Please contact your primary care physician if you develop COVID-19 symptoms. The health and safety of our community remains our top priority.
