RHS welding students competed in a pre-Thanksgiving Welding Competition in Rockdale, 22 schools competed with a total of 150 students. There were 4 different classes from Level 1 to Level 3 and the Masters Level 3. Each contest increased in difficulty as the level number increased. The level 3 masters which only has the most advanced welders competing . Students perform in real world simulations that consist of standing on a 4" wide piece of I-beam 10 feet off the ground. Students must weld in the overhead position while being strapped to a harness for safety. Time torch cutting and underwater welding demonstration where other areas of competition.
