We are happy to report that all Royal ISD students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch EVERY DAY for the entire 2021-2022 school year.
On April 20, 2021, USDA issued a policy memo, “COVID-19: Child Nutrition Response #85”, that allows the District to operate the National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option (SSO) during the regular school year, through June 30, 2022. https://www.fns.usda.gov/cn/child-nutrition-response-85
Benefits During Instructional Days:
- August and September 2021. Free breakfast and lunch for ALL enrolled Royal ISD students and children (18 and under) in the community.
- October 2021 through May 2022. Free breakfast and lunch for ALL enrolled Royal ISD students.
Income eligibility will however resume to establish the 2022-2023 free or reduced price- meal carryover, to provide information for the P-EBT benefits, and for federal grant data requirements.
