Cosmetology & Human Services

The Cosmetology and Human Service program of study introduces CTE learners to knowledge and skills related to providing beauty and personal care services. CTE concentrators may learn about or practice managing personal care facilities and coordinating or supervising personal service workers. Students who meet all requirements set forth by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulations may earn a Cosmetology Operators License in this program of study.

Targeted Industry-Based certification(s) for this Program of Study:

Cosmetology Operators License through TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing & Regulations).

Principles of Cosmetology Design & Color Theory (One Credit).

Year 1, All Human Services pathway

General requirements. This course is recommended for students in Grade 9.

Introduction to Cosmetology (One Credit).

Course 2, All Human Services pathway

General requirements. This course is recommended for students in Grade 10 who have completed Principles of Cosmetology Design & Color Theory.

Cosmetology I (Two Credits).

PEIMS: 13025200

Course 3, All Human Services pathway

General requirements. This course is recommended for students in Grades 11-12 who have completed Introduction to Cosmetology.

Cosmetology II (Two-Three Credits).

Course 4, All Human Services pathway

General requirements. This course is recommended for students in Grade 12 who have completed Cosmetology I.
