Sympathies to the Loved Ones of RJH Student Meliek Davis-Moses

Dear Parents,

I am writing with great sadness to inform you that one of our 8th grade students, Meliek Davis-Moses, was in an automobile accident and has died. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends.

As students are not with us at this time, we are notifying you of news of the death today to allow you to make the decision on how best to inform your child.

Members of our Crisis Response Team are available to meet with students individually and in groups virtually on Tuesday, March 31, as well as over the coming days and weeks via Zoom. Please contact the RJH school counselor, Ms. Perrow, at sperrow@royal-isd.net if you feel your child is in need of additional assistance. We can also provide a list of community mental health resources.

Any information that we receive and that the family would like shared will be made available as soon as we have it. We have also attached some tips and strategies on how to respond to your child if they are experiencing grief symptoms.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the school counselors with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Orlando Vargas
