Royal Community Advisory Committee to Present Recommendation to School Board

The Royal Community Advisory Committee met on June 22 to continue discussing facility needs and expected district growth. The group heard from Royal ISD Financial Advisor Lucas Janda, Kimberly Bow and Michael Lovaglio from Stantec, and Steve Risser from Gallagher Construction Services, who led the group of 33 attendees in a discussion about how to best meet the needs of current and future students. The group discussion resulted in a recommendation that will be presented to the RISD School Board at their July 19 meeting.

Royal Superintendent Rick Kershner said “I’m excited about the growth coming to Royal ISD, and I’m very appreciative of the time and effort of the Community Advisory Committee. In the most recent meeting, the committee voted unanimously on a recommendation to improve existing facilities while addressing district growth. This move will allow Royal to continue to serve current Falcon students while planning for our future.”
