Royal ISD’s welding program has had a standout year, proudly representing the district at 12 welding competitions and build-off events across Texas. These events, hosted by the Texas High School Welding Series in collaboration with industry partners, offer students the unique opportunity to showcase their skills, earn scholarships, and secure industry-based certifications.
Competing against 300 to 500 students at each event, our team members tested their skills in high-pressure environments while engaging with potential employers and certified welding inspectors. One of the greatest advantages of these events is the ability for students to earn an IBC (Industry-Based Certification) under the supervision of a CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), boosting their post-graduation career readiness.
