Welcome Royal Speech-Language Pathologist Kristen Allen

Please provide a short bio of your prior experience.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003 with my bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I then moved to Virginia to complete my Master’s at Radford University, where I graduated with a degree in Speech Pathology in 2005.  I began working as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Texas Children’s Hospital in 2005, then started contracting my speech therapy services to several local school districts.  I began contracting my services to Royal ISD in 2008. I have loved my experience as part of the Royal team and finally made the move to come on board full-time this school year!

1-2 goals you’d like to accomplish during your first year in your new role:
My biggest goal is to develop effective communication with parents and staff. I want both parents and staff to feel that they have a good understanding of their student’s speech and language skills and how they can help their students to make progress with their communication

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I have a husband, 4 kids, and a dog, so I stay busy! I also love reading and read (on average) a book each week.

Any other information you’d like to share about yourself?
I love working for Royal and I am thrilled to officially be a part of the amazing team here!
