This Week in Falcon Country

We hope you had a great weekend! Make sure you check royal-isd.net to see what’s happening at Royal! Royal Falcons brought home numerous awards from the Waller County Fair and the Royal Marching Sound Machine won numerous awards at several competitions over the past week. Follow @ royal_ffa and SoundMachineMedia to see updates! Our campuses celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month and celebrated our Instructional Coaches, custodians, and maintenance teams. The Royal Education Foundation provided grants to Falcon team members at every campus. As always, the “Capturing Kids’ Hearts” philosophy was at the center of all we did as we invested in our tomorrow. Watch the district website and social media for posts about those accomplishments as well as all the other great things our Falcons are doing!

Bullying Prevention MonthOctober 10 from 6-8pm

October is Bullying Prevention Month. Students, staff, and the community play an important role in keeping our schools safe by reporting potential threats or safety issues. In addition to reporting information to school resource officers or local law enforcement officials, students and parents can also utilize the Royal ISD “StopIt” link to anonymously report tips. Anonymous tips CAN and DO save lives. With your help, we can effectively continue our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for all students. See Something, Say Something!

2023 National Night Out

The Royal ISD Police Department is hosting the 2023 National Night Out on Tuesday, October 10 from 6-8pm in the Royal High School back parking lot.

#ThinkBeforeYouPost

We encourage parents to help our students understand the serious implications that can result from inappropriate texting and social media posts.  “Hoax threats disrupt school, waste limited law enforcement resources, and put first responders in unnecessary danger. We also don’t want to see a young person start out adulthood with a felony record over an impulsive social media post.”, said FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich. If your child is facing struggles, our counseling team, culture & well-being team, and staff are always available to assist and provide support. CLICK HERE to access support resources.

What should I do if I see concerning information online?

  • Don’t ever post or send any hoax threats online…period.
  • If you are a target of an online threat, alert your local law enforcement immediately.
  • If you see a threat of violence posted on social media, immediately contact local law enforcement or your local FBI office. Members of the public can always submit a tip to the FBI at tips.fbi.gov.
  • Notify authorities but don’t share or forward the threat until law enforcement has had a chance to investigate—this can spread misinformation and cause panic.
  • If you are a parent or family member, know that some young people post these threats online as a cry for attention or as a way to get revenge or exert control. Talk to your child about the proper outlet for their stress or other emotions, and explain the importance of responsible social media use and the consequences of posting hoax threats.
