Royal ISD is excited to welcome Mrs. Shalonda Dumas as the Principal of Royal High School:
Royal High School Family,
I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Royal High School. Having a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Educational Leadership from Texas A&M Commerce has afforded me the opportunity to extend my expertise to the educational environment in various roles. Prior to entering the education industry, I was in the financial industry for 10 years and served as Vice President of a bank. This role provided me with customer service skills and a high aptitude for finance. Utilizing my leadership skills, I transitioned to a school business manager role in Houston ISD. Over the course of the next nine years, I was a math teacher in Alief ISD and Katy ISD. In 2012, I accepted a promotional position in Katy ISD as the head of the math department. In 2015, I served as the assistant principal of a high school in Katy ISD. I continued my growth and service to students, teachers, and families in 2017 as I opened a new high school campus in Katy ISD as the associate principal.
I am a wife and mother of a son and daughter. I believe in establishing high expectations while providing the necessary resources to support and facilitate growth. I believe our Falcon students deserve the same access to resources and opportunities to become productive citizens in their chosen paths.
Royal High School is an amazing school with outstanding students, dedicated teachers, and community support. I look forward to working together to build a positive culture and environment that promotes excellence for all.

- To facilitate clear and concise communication with sustainable systems that will provide streamlined processes and impact all stakeholders positively.
- To work collaboratively towards a shared vision, mission, goals, and values to support positive school culture, high-quality curriculum, and effective instruction.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I enjoy watching sports and I love to cook.
