6/22/2020 Vandalism at Royal Football Stadium

School and law-enforcement officials are investigating a vandalism incident that occurred on June 22, 2020. A group of unidentified people entered the field from Royal Road, causing significant damage to the Royal High School football stadium by riding motorcycles on the field.

The taxpayers of the community have made a sustained financial commitment for the construction and upkeep of school facilities. Littering, defacing, or damaging school property is not tolerated. Any individual found doing so will be required to pay for damages they cause and will be subject to criminal proceedings.

The intentional damage to the field has forced us to reconsider the times that the track is available to the Royal community. The district facilities team is reviewing options to allow access to the track while preventing future damage to the grounds. We apologize for any inconvenience to community members who visit the track to exercise. Thank you for your patience as we work to identify a solution. We will provide further information on track availability as it becomes available.
