Holiday Cheer from Royal MJROTC

The Royal MJROTC cadets worked extremely hard to collect items for their annual holiday food drive. In addition to the canned and dry goods collected, ROTC Booster Club member Ms. Elvina Bland from Lake Charles, LA donated ten stuffed chickens. Lake Charles resident and retired high school teacher Loretta Flagg donated the bulk of the canned goods to the food drive.

Sergeant Bland suited up in the Marine Corps Mascot Outfit to spread holiday spirit and uplift residents at the DeQuincy Assisted Living Facility in DeQuincy LA. The mascot is a bull dog named Chesty. She had a wonderful time visiting the residents and having a holiday lunch with them. Pictured below are Sergeant Bland (Chesty the Bull Dog), patient Gwendolyn Bland, and Gwendolyn’s nurse (the Grinch).

Thank you to Sergeant bland and our Royal cadets for giving back to the community!
