Exciting News from the Falcon Art Department!

RHS student Joshua Camacho's piece "Rodeo Cowboy" is advancing to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo student art contest Auction. This is  RHS art teacher Steven Crawley's  6th year teaching and participating in the rodeo and is the first time we have had a student make it into the auction.

Mr. Crawley stated, "I'm super proud of Josh and it's quite an accomplishment for him, for me as his teacher, for Royal High School, and for Royal ISD. I'm excited to learn how this next step in the contest works, so there will be more news later as we find out how much his piece sells for and what his cut is. Josh was also invited to attend the Awards ceremony at NRG for the auction winners. The cover photo contains two pictures of his work, one before the show and one after it won our district's show and advanced to the next round. I knew that we had a great show this year, but I didn't realize that it was 'auction level' great. That means we are on the right track. Did I mention that he did this in Art 1 and his first time trying something quite like this?"
