For the past decade, the Royal ISD Education Foundation has worked to make a meaningful difference in classrooms across the district by funding innovative educational grants that bring creative ideas to life. Through the generosity of donors, community partners, and supporters, the Foundation helps educators turn their visions into reality, providing resources and experiences that go beyond traditional classroom funding.
A Decade of Making a Difference
Established in 2016, the Royal ISD Education Foundation has spent the last 10 years championing innovative teaching and learning. Its mission centers on supporting educators and enriching the educational experiences of students throughout Royal ISD. From creative classroom projects to engaging instructional resources, the Foundation's grants help teachers explore new approaches to learning and provide students with meaningful opportunities for growth.
$100,000 in Grants for 2026!
This year, the Foundation is taking its commitment to educational excellence to an exciting new level, with a goal of awarding $100,000 in innovative educational grants to Royal ISD staff! The response from educators has been tremendous. The Foundation received 80 grant applications, reflecting the creativity, dedication, and passion of Royal ISD staff members who are eager to enhance learning experiences for their students.
Even more exciting, the Foundation is preparing to begin awarding grants this October! These awards will help bring innovative ideas to life across the district and demonstrate the powerful impact of community investment in public education.
Meet the RISD Education Foundation President: Cori Vahalik
Leading the Royal ISD Education Foundation during this milestone year is Cori Vahalik, Foundation President. Mrs. Vahalik is a graduate of Royal High School and currently an attorney and CPA serving the surrounding area. She also serves as Vice President of the Royal ISD School Board. Under her leadership, the Foundation continues to strengthen its connections with the community, encourage charitable giving, and champion opportunities that directly benefit Royal ISD classrooms.
As the Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary, Vahalik and fellow Foundation supporters are looking toward the future with excitement, building on a decade of success while continuing to invest in the educators and students who make Royal ISD special.
