Royal ISD officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with an energizing Convocation celebration, bringing employees from across the district together for a morning focused on connection, inspiration, and Falcon pride.

The day began with a vendor fair and breakfast, giving staff an opportunity to connect with community partners and enter to win one of 20 raffle prizes. The excitement continued with a spirited campus competition. Congratulations to Royal Junior High for taking home this year’s coveted Spirit Stick!

The program featured an invocation led by Board Trustees Rose Jones and Melissa Woods, a welcome from Board President Scott Hartman, an inspiring message from Superintendent Dr. Megan C. Pape, and special performances by talented Royal ISD students.

Keynote speaker Damon West, author of The Coffee Bean, shared a powerful message about the ability each person has to positively influence and transform the environment around them. His message challenged Royal ISD staff to embrace their impact as they prepare to welcome students back for another great year.
