Royal ISD will welcome two new principals for the 2026-2027 school year-one at Royal Prairie Elementary and one at Royal High School. Read more about them below!
Royal Prairie Elementary:
Daniel Martinez is proud to serve as the principal of Royal Prairie Elementary and truly excited to be part of the Falcon family. With 14 years in education, his journey has taken him through five years as an elementary assistant principal, two years as an elementary principal, and three years as a middle school principal. Each step has shaped how he leads: grounded in relationships, focused on growth, and committed to doing what is best for students every single day.
Mr. Martinez earned his Bachelorβs degree in Early Childhood Education and his Masterβs degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University San Antonio. He is also a co-author of Restorative Discipline Practices: A Journey of Implementation by a Community of Texas Educators, a reflection of his belief that strong relationships and accountability build better schools. His experience was further strengthened through the Harvard Leadership Program for Principals, where he refined my approach to leading with purpose and clarity.
To my staff: I believe in you. My role is to support, challenge, and grow alongside you so we can create classrooms where students thrive. To my students: you are the reason we are here. We will push you, support you, and celebrate you as you reach your full potential. To my families and community: your partnership matters. Together, we will build a school culture that feels welcoming, safe, and focused on success.
Mr. Martinez is honored to lead and ready to get to work alongside each of you. Go Falcons!
Royal High School:
Marangelly Harris is an experienced, bilingual educational leader dedicated to fostering excellence, accountability, and strong community partnerships. Originally from Puerto Rico and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she is fluent in English and Spanish and specializes in building meaningful relationships with diverse students, staff, and families.
With nearly 20 years in public education, Ms. Harris most recently serves as a principal in Spring ISD. There, she successfully raised Northgate Crossing Elementary School from a C to a B rating through intentional instructional systems, data-driven leadership, and a vibrant campus culture. Her extensive background spans both elementary and secondary campuses, giving her a comprehensive understanding of student development and postsecondary readiness. She has previously served in assistant principal roles at the middle school level, and high school assistant principal experience in both Bay City and Spring Branch ISDs. She has additional campus turnaround experience in previous school districts as well.
Before her career in education, Ms. Harris proudly served in the United States Army, earning multiple military medals. She infuses that same discipline, dedication, and leadership into her school community. A former Teacher of the Year, her commitment to the classroom remains at the heart of her leadership philosophy.
Ms. Harris holds a bachelorβs degree in Social Psychology from Park University, a masterβs degree in Human Services from Capella University, and a Leadership certificate from The Executive Education Academy at Rice University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership.
