For the first time in school history, our soccer program has reached the pinnacle of successβadvancing to the state championship! With a thrilling victory in the state semifinals over London ISD (Corpus Christi), this team has not only secured its place in the title match but has forever etched its name into the legacy of our school.
The State Semifinals proved to be a tough match, but in the end your Royal Falcons persevered. After a 3-3 overtime finish versus Corpus Christi London, Royal won the 5 point shootout 4-3!! It came down to the last goal!
This achievement did not happen overnight. It is the result of countless early mornings, late practices, and an unwavering commitment to one another. Throughout the season, this team has demonstrated resilience, discipline, and a belief that something special was possible. In the face of tough opponents and high-pressure moments, they rose to the challengeβtogether.
The semifinal match was a testament to everything this team represents. From the first whistle to the final seconds, our athletes played with heart, determination, and composure. Every pass, every save, and every goal reflected monthsβif not yearsβof preparation. When the final buzzer sounded, it wasnβt just a win; it was a breakthrough moment for our entire school community.
What makes this accomplishment even more meaningful is the way this team has brought people together. Students, staff, families, and community members have rallied behind them, filling the stands and showing unwavering support. Their journey has created a shared sense of pride that extends far beyond the field.
This team is more than a group of talented athletesβthey are leaders, role models, and history-makers. They have set a new standard for what is possible!
As they prepare for the state championship, one thing is certain: they carry with them the pride of an entire community. No matter the outcome, they have already accomplished something extraordinary.
History has been made. And the best chapter is still to come.
We will play for the state championship April 9th (6:30PM) in Georgetown at Birkelbach Field. They will compete for the 2nd Team State Title in school history (1975 Boys Basketball won a state championship).
Come out to support!!
