Royal ISD was proudly represented at the All-Region Jazz Concert & Clinic held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Kerr High School. The event brought together outstanding student musicians from across the region for a day of learning, collaboration, and performance.

Representing Royal ISD were:

• Devin Ruley — Trumpet (4th Chair)

• Justin Segura — Trombone (4th Chair)

• Rafael Garces — Bass Guitar (1st Chair)

Their selection marks the third consecutive year that Royal ISD has earned representation in the All-Region Jazz Band — a testament to the strength and consistency of the district’s music program.

Students participated in a clinic led by renowned jazz musician and educator Bobby Guess, whose experience and passion for musicianship provided valuable instruction in improvisation, ensemble balance, phrasing, and rhythm.

Throughout the day, students refined their skills and collaborated with peers from across the region before concluding with a powerful All-Region Jazz Band performance that showcased their hard work and preparation.

Earning All-Region honors requires dedication, discipline, and countless hours of rehearsal. Royal ISD’s continued representation highlights the district’s commitment to high-quality fine arts instruction and meaningful performance opportunities for students.
