Royal ISD is proud to recognize Mr. Gary Miller, Band Director at Royal High School, for receiving multiple high-profile nominations honoring excellence in music education and public school teaching.
Mr. Miller has been nominated for a Music Educator Award associated with the Recording Academy, the organization behind the Grammy Awards. If selected, Mr. Miller would be invited to attend the 2027 Grammy Awards, where he would receive national recognition for his impact as a music educator.
In addition, Mr. Miller has been nominated for Amazing Public School Teacher through iHeartRadio. This honor includes the opportunity to receive a $5,000 award and a classroom makeover, further supporting music education at Royal High School.
These nominations reflect Mr. Miller’s dedication to his students, commitment to instructional excellence, and passion for fostering musical growth and opportunity within Royal ISD. His leadership continues to elevate the district’s fine arts program and inspire students both inside and outside the classroom.
