Royal ISD is pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees has called a bond election for November 2025.
At the August 11 Regular Board Meeting, community members Gerald “Piggy” Gassner and Susan Feldman presented the Bond Task Force Committee’s recommendations. Following their remarks, the Board voted to place the bond on the November 2025 ballot.
The committee’s recommendation included:
A new high school and related facilities (including a new livestock barn to house animals/show projects, fine arts facilities, and other learning spaces).
Complete renovation of Falcon Stadium – a facility with deep roots in the Royal community.
A new animal livestock barn to house show projects, allow all students to participate in these activities, and expand opportunities in Royal’s strong agricultural education program.
Acquisition of land for future school facilities.
Voters will see three propositions on the ballot:
Proposition A – $350,632,995 for the construction, acquisition, and equipment of school buildings, prioritizing a new high school and related facilities (including a new livestock center, fine arts facilities, and other learning spaces).
Proposition B – $9,540,000 for the renovation, construction, improvement, and equipment of athletic stadium facilities to accommodate spectators.
Proposition C – $6,000,000 for the acquisition of land for future school facilities.
These recommendations are the result of months of work by the 2025 Bond Task Force, a community committee tasked with ensuring the success of Royal ISD students. We deeply appreciate their service and will share additional details about the projects and the election in the months ahead.
