Royal ISD would like to offer some clarification about a recent message regarding school supply lists and a potential update to our backpack policy.
This week, information was shared about a possible requirement for clear or mesh backpacks. The idea came from a collaboration between campus leaders who were working to align practices across grade levels, but no final decisions have been made. The potential change is focused on student and staff safety.
We’re taking a step back to revisit the conversation and to ensure that it follows the appropriate development process. Any proposed policy changes will be thoughtfully considered and presented to the Royal ISD Board of Trustees for discussion and input.
