No Summer Break for Excellence: Falcons Soar at State Band Competition!

Royal High School is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its talented band students at the 2025 Texas State Solo & Ensemble Competition, held at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, TX.

Two students earned high individual honors:
🏅 Eduardo Acousta (Freshman) and Damian Ramirez (Senior) both received Excellent Ratings for their solo performances.

The school's Brass Quintet made history by earning a Superior Rating in the ensemble category—a first for Royal High School at this prestigious competition. The quintet includes:

  • Devin Ruley, Sophomore Trumpet

  • Oliver Vince, Freshman Trumpet

  • Christian Solorio, Junior French Horn

  • Justin Segura, Junior Euphonium

  • Edwin Majano, Sophomore Tuba

All seven students who participated in the event earned medals, a testament to their dedication, discipline, and musical excellence.

This achievement is widely recognized as the band equivalent of a state championship, and the Royal ISD community is beaming with pride.

Congratulations to these exceptional musicians—and to the directors, families, and supporters who helped them reach new heights. The Falcon Band is truly soaring!
