Why Royal ISD?

Royal ISD is a hidden gem in the state of Texas, and its students are well-equipped to compete with students from districts of all sizes. The districtโ€™s student population is culturally and ethnically diverse, making it a great place to learn and work. Royal ISD is a fast-growth district, currently serving over 3,100 students.

Royal ISD has several programs designed to prepare each Falcon student for the future. Royal Early College High School allows students to earn an Associate's degree by the time they graduate from Royal High School, operating as a "school within a school" model. The district offers superior Career & Technical Education programs, with our CTE program being named a Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) District of Distinction for the second year in a row. Our award-winning band offers exceptional fine-arts opportunities, while our STEM Academy allows for robust science, technology, engineering and math programs, such as our Project Lead the Way program and robotics.

Royal ISD focuses on the whole child, and understands compassion, empathy, and leadership are a central part of how a student develops, who they become, and how they contribute to the world once they leave our school system. We are proud to be named a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase District for the second year in a row!

These are just a few of the reasons that families choose Royal ISD.

Looking toward the future, Royal ISD is experiencing "hyper-growth", and is expected to get to a 9,000-11,000 student enrollment in the next 5-7 years. Royal ISD opened a new elementary school (Royal Prairie) in August 2025. In November 2025, the district passed a historic 356.6 million dollar bond package for the construction of a new 3,000 student high school and to acquire land for future school facilities. The district anticipates the opening of the new "Royal High School" to be in the Fall of 2028.
