Royal ISD Administration

On August 29, Erica Scardino with the Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce reached out to Royal ISD with an exciting proposal for our RHS football team. The Chamber had partnered with Dick’s House of Sport in Katy and wanted to invite the team to their facility to meet an NFL player and receive athletic gear. The opportunity was a collaboration between New Balance, Dick’s House of Sport, and Houston Texans player Will Anderson, Jr. Aside from knowing that they were going to Dick’s House of Sport, the players had no idea about what the event would be.

Royal ISD cannot thank New Balance, Dick’s House of Sport, Will Anderson, Jr., and the Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce enough for providing this opportunity to our Falcons.

Upon arrival, the players were given New Balance shoes as well as a bag containing t-shirts, hoodies, a water bottle, and related gear. Dick's House of Sport also presented the team with a $1,000 grant. The team was instructed to suit up in their new shoes and t-shirts and to do a rotation of drills while they waited to be joined by a special surprise guest. Shortly after that, Houston Texans Defensive End Will Anderson, Jr. made his appearance, much to the excitement of the Falcon players. He watched them do the drills they had been practicing, talked to them about how to be successful both individually and as a team, took pictures with them, and signed autographs.
