​ Resolution by The West I-10 Chamber of Commerce in Support of The Royal  2020 Bond Election

The West I-10 Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has issued a resolution in support of the Royal ISD 2020 Bond Election. Royal ISD thanks the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce for its continued support of all Royal ISD students.  


RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE WEST I-10 CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN SUPPORT OF THE ROYAL INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT’S 2020 BOND ELECTION 

WHEREAS, the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce is committed to the success of the Royal
Independent School District (“District”) and believes a successful school district is beneficial to area business, workforce and the community as a whole, and

WHEREAS, a School Bond Election gives local voters the opportunity to support existing and
future facility needs by addressing the District’s upcoming growth and aging infrastructure across all Royal ISD’s schools, and

WHEREAS, Royal ISD can expect an increase of 1,800+ new students between 2020 and 2030 to the District’s current study body of 2,740 students, and

WHEREAS, With increased property values across the District and high collection rates, coupled with the recent reduction of the District’s tax rate from $1.427167 per $100 valuation to $1.321817 per $100 valuation and the District’s A+ and AAA credit ratings, the District’s $37.3 million bond package is not expected to cause the District’s tax rate to increase and is expected to improve the overall student learning experience, and

WHEREAS, investing money into the quality of education provided to Brookshire-Pattison area students is an investment in the financial and economic future of the community.

THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY:

RESOLVED, the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce supports the efforts of the Royal IndependentSchool District to seek additional funding through the issuance of the proposed bond.

RESOLVED, the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce urges the local voters to vote in favor of the

Bond Election scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 or during early voting, which ends Friday, October 30th, 2020.

The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Board of Directors on October 8, 2020.
