3.19.2020 Falcon Update

Hi Falcons! We are aware that this is uncharted territory. RISD promises to be transparent and to share the most up-to-date information possible. We will continue to communicate updates as they become available.

The curriculum and instructional leadership at RISD is working to put together a district-wide plan for distance learning. We are also procuring technology options for our students to ensure that ALL Falcons are able to continue their classes.

The most important things you can do at this time are stay calm and follow these basic precautions:

There is a lot of information out there regarding this situation, and much of it is conflicting. To curb the spread of misinformation in our community, please reference the official RISD updates page. We have provided links to several official sources of information (CDC, WHO, plus state and local resources). We have also posted links and resources to help you and your children manage the suspension of school services.

If you see a question on social media, please direct the person posting to the official page or to a specific article that answers their question. If you have a question that isn't answered by the official coronavirus page, please let us know by posting your question (make sure you tag Royal ISD) or by sending an email to falcons@royal-isd.net. Thank you for your help as we navigate this situation. We are better and stronger together and are committed to partnering with our parents and students during this time.

Thank you,

Kendra Strange, Ed.D. (Dr. K)

Associate Superintendent
