Theater Arts: Upcoming Performances

NOTE: The RHS Peter Pan performance dates have been rescheduled: 11/26 and 11/27 at 7pm. 11/28 at 5pm.

The Yellow Boat

The famous playwright David Sarr and his wife will be making a special trip from Arizona to attend the Royal High Theater Arts U.I.L. One Act Play preview of The Yellow Boat Saturday Feb. 29th at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Sarr wrote The Yellow Boat about his 8-year old son, who died from AIDS because of blood contamination during treatment for congenital hemophilia.

In the process of Royal requesting the rights to perform his play, he was informed about the new adaptation that Royal High School will perform for the U.I.L. One Act Play on March 6th. 

Mr. Sarr is highly interested in seeing the new adaptation of his world famous play.

Peter Pan

The Royal High School Theater Arts department will present 3 performances of the musical hit PETER PAN on April 3rd (7:00pm), 4th (7:00 pm), and 5th (5:00 pm). This theater musical classic had the help of Mr. Runnels, donations, and The Education Foundation! 

Peter Pan, Wendy, Michael, and John will fly over the PAC stage with the special flying effects of FLYING BY FOY (www.flybyfoy.com). This company has provided flying effects for Broadway's Peter Pan, NBC Television, Mary Martin,  U.S Gymnast Cathy Rigby, and several national musical concerts. 

The Royal High School Theater Arts department has been planning Peter Pan for over 4 years. The musical is a collaboration of talented students from Royal High School, Royal Middle school, and the STEM campus! Noel Medina will fly the role of Peter Pan. The musical is directed and choreographed by Mr. R. Callies. Tax deductible donations are still being accepted!

Tickets are $5.00 for students and $8.00 for adults!
