Early college high school tECHNOLOGY AND textbooks

  • All STEM 9th grade students will receive an RISD Chromebook. Lone Start College (LSC) textbooks will also be checked out to ECHS students. 
  • ECHS Grade 9 ONLY will be able to pick up their Chromebooks on August 13th and 14th from 9 AM to 3 PM each day at the Royal STEM Academy.
  • ECHS students, grades 9-12, will pick up their LONE STAR COLLEGE textbooks for DUAL CREDIT CLASSES ONLY on August 13th and 14th from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Royal STEM Academy.
  • ECHS students who did NOT turn in their Spring 2020 Lone Star College Textbooks will be REQUIRED to turn in the SPRING 2020 LSC textbooks before being allowed to check out Fall 2020 LSC Textbooks.
  • When you visit the students’ campus to pick up your child’s Chromebook and/or textbooks, you will need to bring the student’s school ID card or Z-Pass Bus Tag for EACH child. If you are unable to bring the student ID or bus tag, a parent’s driver’s license may be used. If neither is available, the district will advise you about next steps to verify student enrollment, and you may return on Thursday and Friday for an additional opportunity to checkout a Chromebook.

Smartbuses (Falcon Learning Zones) 

Smart buses will be located throughout the community. A schedule of location and hours will be posted on the District website and social media accounts. Hot spots will be made available to students who reported no connectivity at home and live in areas that are not reached by the Smart Buses. 

This will allow students to access their remote learning materials and provide them with safe, filtered access to educational content and resources. 

Campus Access Points

Each RISD campus will have a WiFi access point for student use. The access points are highlighted in yellow on  each campus image. NOTE: The access points listed below will be changed on or around August 26, 2020 to offer a stronger signal to our students. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
