Holiday Wishes and Royal ISD Employee Appreciation Gifts

Good afternoon Falcons,

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! On Monday, December 14, 2020, the Royal ISD Board of Trustees approved a retention and incentive payment for all full-time employees. This is the first time in Royal ISD history that this has occurred. The checks were delivered on December 17 and December 18 by a merry team of elves.

Superintendent Rick Kershner stated, “I just want to thank each of you for your continued dedication and commitment to Royal ISD and our students. Our hope is that what we were able to deliver the past two days will in some small way help during the holiday season. This is just one way for us to show we appreciate and value all of you very much. If and when you see a Royal ISD board member, please thank them for their continued support of the district and staff. This has been a tough year and next few months may not be any better. Please stay the course, and let's continue to provide great learning opportunities for our students. Thanks to each of you for making Royal a GREAT place. I appreciate serving this community with you!”

Associate Superintendent Dr. Kendra Strange echoed this sentiment when she said, “There are no words to express our appreciation for the level of professionalism and old-fashioned grit our staff has shown through this semester. Thank you for pulling together, digging deep, being flexible, and partnering with us as we figured this out along the way. This financial bonus is a small token of our appreciation for all you’ve done to keep our kids learning during this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for our kids, and for ensuring that we provided a quality education in these unprecedented times.”

From the entire team at RISD, we wish the entire Royal community a safe, restful, and happy holiday season!
