What happens if Royal ISD Bond 2020 is approved next week?

Greetings, Falcons!

Some of you may be wondering what happens if the Royal ISD Bond 2020 propositions pass. If bond 2020 passes, we will form a bond oversight committee with a diverse group of community and district leaders to ensure that the bond proposal items will be completed and to promote transparency. We are committed to the best possible educational opportunities for ALL ROYAL STUDENTS, EVERY DAY. Bond 2020 includes proposals to help us accomplish this as well as long-range planning to ensure we have sufficient facilities for current and future Falcon students.

Bond funds are handled differently than operating expenses. The district must adhere to the proposed items listed in the bond. For example, if you are approved for a home mortgage, you cannot use that money to buy a car or a vacation - the funds will be used to buy a home.

In Texas, the only way school districts are able to fund capital improvements such as the items in the 2020 Bond Proposal is through bonds. Bond funds cannot be used for salaries and regular operating expenses.

Remember to do your research, get the facts, and VOTE!

Still Have Questions?

We are here to answer your questions. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Bond Communications Team via email (cginn@royal-isd.net or rkershner@royal-isd.net) or via phone at 281-934-2248 (ask for Christi Ginn). The current administration is dedicated to transparency and positive change, and we welcome your questions.

We encourage you to get involved with the schools by attending school board meetings, asking questions, volunteering (once we are able to do so again) and staying in contact with your child’s campus. It takes a village working TOGETHER to achieve success for all Falcon students!

Royal ISD thanks you for partnering with us to promote a positive learning environment for all Falcon students.

Have a great afternoon!
