Honoring Mr. David Smith - Notification of Funeral Services

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength
of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26)

David Smith, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on 8/22/2020 from injuries sustained in a car accident. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. David was born to Deloise and Thurman Smith. David was an alumnus of Prairie View A&M University. He worked as a teacher in the Royal Independent School District for ten years and was a member of St. Cuthbert’s Episcopal Church.

Anyone who knew David, knew he was kind, humorous, and above all David loved his family. He was an avid reader whom regularly shared his lists of recently conquered books. David had an immense passion for his role as a teacher within Royal Independent School District and was always a source of positivity . He will forever be remembered by his wife; LaQueena, sons; Cameron, Christian and Marcus; parents; Deloise and Thurman, brothers; Michael and Stephen, Godparents: Samson and Pearline, Godson; Khris  along with a host of extended family and friends that will miss him more than words can say.

After being diagnosed with cancer, one of David’s greatest hopes, aside from being a devoted husband and loving father, was to ring the bell signifying his defeat of cancer upon completion of his last treatment. That bell now rings as David has indeed defeated cancer.

Public visitation will be held at Klein Memorial Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, Texas 77065, on Thursday, September 3rd from 5PM to 7PM.  There will be a funeral service for immediate family only held at St. Cuthbert’s Episcopal Church, 17020 West Rd, Houston, Texas 77095, on Friday, September 4th, 2022 at 11am.
