Melissa Baker Named Director of Early College High School and College Readiness

Good evening, Falcon family!

Royal ISD is proud to announce that Melissa Baker will be serving as the district's Director of Early College High School and College Readiness. Ms. Baker is beginning her 7th year with Royal ISD. She has served in multiple roles throughout her time at Royal, including district-level Instructional Specialist, Textbook Coordinator, Early College High School Coordinator, and most recently as the Royal STEM Academy and ECHS Principal for the past two years. She obtained her Masters in English from Midwestern State University. Prior to coming to Royal, she worked in Houston ISD as an Instructional Coach and Dual Credit High School English teacher.  Her knowledge of college-level educational needs as well as high-school educational needs makes her a wonderful fit for the Royal ISD Director of College Readiness and ECHS.

Ms. Baker states, "I am proud to be 'born and raised' in the Brookshire area, and I am excited about continuing to serve the families of Royal ISD in this new capacity. I cannot wait for the school year to begin! Go Falcons!"

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Baker on this new and exciting role she plays in the District.
