Royal Early College High to Move to the Royal High School Building

Royal ISD is excited to announce that Royal ISD Early College High School (ECHS) will move from the STEM building to the Royal High School (RHS) building for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond.

Texas Education Agency (TEA) defines an ECHS as an innovative high school that provides a seamless pathway from high school to college, which gives students the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma AND an Associate Degree from Lone Star College at no charge to their families.

This move meets TEA requirements for ECHS programs while providing several advantages for our Falcon ECHS students:

  • Additional classroom facilities and teaching staff availability to allow for continued ECHS program growth that is not possible at the current facility.
  • ECHS classes will be held in the same facility as athletics, CTE, extracurricular activities, and other high school courses, eliminating the need to commute between the campuses.
  • Students will have a dedicated entrance from the parking lot into the ECHS hallway as well as a direct entrance to the RHS library.

Moving Royal ECHS to the main RHS campus will allow us to continue to expand this valuable program. Watch the RISD website for additional information in the coming weeks and months regarding this exciting update!
