Giving Back to Those in Need, 4.3.20 Waller County COVID-19 Update

4.3.2020 Update from Judge Duhon

A quick update with some good news. If you recall from yesterday's update, we still had a 9th case we were still waiting to hear back from DSHS.

That case came back as negative.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW ALL ORDERS AND GUIDELINES AND STAY AT HOME

IMPORTANT PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE

We are now going on two weeks or more of social distancing. We all know of folks in our families and friends that are in assisted living, retirement communities, and nursing homes. They haven't had any visitors for awhile. I'm sure many of them are very lonely and craving human contact.

Today and this weekend, please carve out some time, pick up the phone, or better yet, use Facetime, Skype, or other videoconferencing apps to visit with these folks face to face.

Give them something to smile about. Let them know you miss them and that you love them. Make them feel important.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF COMMUNICATION... It is uplifting and right now these folks in our Community need that more than ever.

If you know of someone that could use a phone call, please call the Waller County Sheriff's Office at 979.826.8282. I'm sure we can find some volunteers and/or Task Force members to make a few calls to check up on folks.
