3.15.2020 Update

Good afternoon, Falcons!

Don't forget that "Falcon Drive Thru” Meals will be distributed at the back of the high school starting tomorrow. The program will be available each day during the school closure (Monday 3/16 - Friday 3/20).

The last several days have been overwhelming. I am a parent of two and I share your concerns. The RISD administration team has been working diligently to keep the Royal community updated on the coronavirus situation. The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We will continue to monitor official local and national advisories and will follow all government directives.

Over the past few days, I have shared a great deal of resources in an effort to arm you with credible information. The RISD Coronavirus Updates page has a wealth of resources to help you navigate the situation. Please bookmark the updates page so that you can easily access it. All messaging is compiled on that page. If you haven't already done so, please review the 3.13 Update. A district-wide callout will be conducted in Spanish and English when major announcements are posted.

As you go about your week, please keep the following in mind: Spread facts, not fear. Prepare, don't panic. Buy what you need for your family but don't stockpile. Pack your patience if you go to a grocery store and check the store hours before you go. Many stores have temporarily modified their hours to keep shelves re-stocked. Some stores have also set purchase limits on certain items. Governor Abbott has suspended trucking regulations in Texas to help stores restock after supply shortages

Most importantly, practice the same basic preventive measures that you would for any other illness (visit Coronavirus Updates for a list of recommendations).

Enjoy your Sunday!
