RISD Approach to Coronavirus and Illness Prevention

Royal ISD Administration team understands that there is much concern about the coronavirus, and it is important that our parents, staff, and students understand that our district is monitoring the situation. The risk of getting coronavirus is currently low in the U.S. due in part to quick action from health authorities. Just like any other public health matter, we will take consider the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and if necessary, take action to keep our students and staff safe. To prevent the spread of illness, RISD disinfects all facilities on a daily basis with VitalOxide. Right now, what’s most important for our community to understand is that we are also in the midst of the seasonal cold and flu season, and so it’s important that we all do our part to prevent the spread of illness.

While RISD and the CDC continue to monitor the coronavirus closely, students, staff, and their families are encouraged to follow basic hand and cough hygiene measures to prevent colds, flu, and coronavirus. This includes practicing good hygiene, like hand washing, and keeping your child home from school if they are sick. That’s important for our staff, too! To take care of others, and protect others, we must take care of ourselves.
